Diabetic Alert Service Dog Saves 3-Year-Old Countless Times

6 Jun

A recent skill that has been noticed in dogs is their ability to detect changes in a humans body. Whether it be seizures, low blood sugar, mood… They know. This is the case with Ruby, a specially trained service dog who can recognize when Faith, her three year old owner, has low blood sugar. Ruby can detect when Faith’s blood sugar drops by the smell coming off of Faith. Faith’s mom admitted that Ruby has saved Faith’s life many times. I love stories like this. Dogs continue to amaze me!
